Building History

Building Quay was completed in 1989 and originally intended as a mixed use building. The ground floor was for commercial outlets, shops etc, the first and second floors for use as offices and the remaining floors as residences.

The offices on the first and second floors were converted to residences in 1995.

In 1997, as there was no comercial uptake for the ground floor units, a developer bought flats 7 to 14 and converted them to large spacious gallaried three bedroomed units which were completed and sold in Spring/Summer of 1998. The bulk of the remaining flats on the ground floor were developed and soldĀ in 1999/2000.

Today there are 163 flats in the development ranging from one to three bedrooms, all of which are built around a internal courtyard area.
