The majority of travellers to India arrive in either Delhi or Mumbai (Bombay). And these cities are where people get their first impressions. Delhi, unfortunately, does not always offer a positive first impression. I was fortunate in that I was able to reside with an Indian family in South Delhi from the moment I arrived in India. From Raj-era Connaught Place, the commercial centre, to the crowded markets of Old Delhi, and from quirky enclave Hauz Khas to the beautiful bungalows of central New Delhi, low-built Delhi sprawls and contains many unique areas. There are various locations to stay and several neighbourhoods to see in Delhi, although most visitors end up in Pahar Ganj (near the New Delhi Train Station), Karol Bagh, or Connaught Place (also known as CP).
