In the interests of easy handling, like its predecessor, the Zfx™ Evolution NEXT has no door, and needs little space thanks to its compact design. The scanning area has nevertheless been enlarged, now even enabling a pair of models to be digitized in the articulator without any difficulty (360° articulator scan, Optional available from Q1/2022).

The further increased measuring accuracy of less than 6 µm in the solid (1,800 cm³)* is the result of an axis system with position controller for rapid, accurate positioning (high-speed/high-accuracy positioning) and the advanced scanning technology. The Zfx™ Evolution NEXT is a digital stripe-light scanner which projects customized stripe patterns on the object to be scanned using a visible high-speed LED. The projector operates silently based on FULL HD-DLP technology (Digital Light Processing). Two color cameras with a resolution of 2,048 x 1,536 pixels are responsible for high scanning quality. The calculation time for the virtual 3D model is reduced as the generated images are processed directly and simultaneously.
The proven features of the Zfx™ Evolution NEXT include Open Scan technology with data output in PLY and standardized STL format. The STL data are also compatible with additive manufacturing processes (ready for 3D printing). The scanner is also equipped with the “Texture Mapping” option, by means of which markings plotted on the model can not only be displayed but also processed in the CAD software as a cSpline (mathematical function). Finally, the popular multi-die option enables twelve individual segments, such as stumps, to be measured simultaneously.
